Praxis announces the appointments of Adam Isaacs and Calum Hulme as Managing Directors on its Investments and Capital Markets / Investor Relations teams.
Praxis announces the appointments of Adam Isaacs and Calum Hulme as Managing Directors on its Investments and Capital Markets / Investor Relations teams respectively, as part of a recruitment drive to accelerate the business’ growth. More specifically, these latest hires reflect Praxis’ dual ambitions of expanding its operations into new asset-classes and markets, including central London, having traditionally focused primarily on investment opportunities in the UK regions, as well as continuing to broaden its investor client base. Both senior hires join from Brockton Everlast where they held similar long-term roles within the London-based real estate investment and development firm.
Adam was most recently a Managing Director on Brockton’s investment team, where he spent the past decade working across multiple real estate sectors and strategies. During his tenure at the firm, Adam built a strong track record of investing in central London, while also being instrumental in assembling Brockton’s 13 million sq ft UK multi-let industrial portfolio, which was ultimately primarily sold to Blackstone. He began his career at J.P. Morgan working in the Corporate & Investment Bank.
At Praxis, Adam will report directly to the company’s CEO Mark Harrison, bolstering its already best-in-class investment team as it explores new avenues of opportunity.
Praxis has acquired more than £600 million of real estate post-covid including some of the UK’s best regional office assets which it continues to manage on a journey to net zero. The company has c. £100 million of deals in solicitors’ hands and is actively looking at other asset classes where it believes there is – or is likely to be – market dislocation.
Adam Isaacs, Managing Director, Investments, at Praxis, commented:
“It’s an exciting time to join Praxis, who are firmly in acquisitions mode, with the resources to build on a long-term track record of delivering strong investor returns by capitalising on clear pricing dislocation as we move into a new cycle. With the sector undergoing significant structural change, there are attractive buying opportunities for well-capitalised and nimble investors with the ability to actively manage operational real estate assets. We have all the right ingredients in place to scale the Praxis platform across both existing and new UK real estate strategies, and I look forward to driving this forward, with an initial focus on central London in particular.”
Calum was also at Brockton for nearly 10 years where he was most recently a Managing Director, with responsibilities for fund & portfolio management and investor relations. He played a key role in building and executing fund strategies with a combined value of c. £3 billion, in addition to managing relationships with institutional investors and participating in fundraising activity. A chartered accountant, Calum started his career at EY before a stint at M&G Real Estate.
Drawing from his experience, Calum will work across the investor relations and capital markets teams at Praxis, supporting the business by broadening its range of capital relationships in support of a clear growth strategy.
Calum Hulme, Managing Director, Capital Markets / Investor Relations, at Praxis, said:
“Praxis has established a differentiated track record of unlocking latent investment opportunities from which it has generated consistent outsized returns ahead of the market benchmark. My goal is to nurture the firm’s existing strong investor relationships, while helping to grow new capital relationships, leveraging the business’ success in creating value through cycles from its proven vertically integrated platform.”
These appointments follow a series of key senior level hires, including Graham Barnes and Andrew Robinson to Praxis’ capital markets team, and Rosamund King as Chief People Officer, as the business bolsters its top talent roster to accelerate its next stage of growth.
James Hewitt, Chief Operating Officer at Praxis, commented:
“These appointments demonstrate not just our ability to attract the best talent in the industry, but our unwavering commitment to exponentially growing the business at what is a very exciting inflection point in our evolution. The deep experience and successful track records of both Adam and Calum will be invaluable as we seek to attract and deploy significant capital over the coming years, responding to a strong pipeline of opportunities across the UK real estate market.”
Keen & Partners advised Praxis on these appointments.
